This is my first post on the BLOG and thnaks to Gmail for this opportunity and inspiration from Aamir (khan) that made me work on it. I never wondered if I would ever get to create a BLOG so quick and fast, though I had been thinking of getting one created on my lappy bk home to keep me reminded of my different moods. Thanks to Sid who advised me to work on creating a BLOG, a forum where I can invite thoughts from other people. As for the moment, I have no idea as to how things would shape up since this zone would not be known to many. And keeping in mind that I dont want just about everyone to keep me posted (though that's letting go feedback from one's hands)...That's it for the moment and I hope to keep posting more as days proceed.

‘THAT THING YOU DO’

I am looking through ‘that thing you do’ and it’s a great piece of work showcasing the talent of young artists and how these guys form a band, perform in a college party and get a chance to perform in a nearby restaurant.

That Thing You Do, directed by Tom Hanks starts with this band wherein the drummer works for PATTERSON’S a local shop and the rest of the guys a group of friends come together and form a band. The band hits well with the young folks in the town and soon they think of making a RECORD as in a record, record, record…

From now on I have decided that everytime, I am going to sit online and review a movie that entices me that I am going to post the details of the same on my BLOG…the vellas BLOG as of my MEOWs told me.

Interestingly in one the scenes, the drummer is found talking to a girl who tells tat she has become such a fan of the group that she told her parents about going to study with friends but instead turned up to see the band. Well who wouldn’t crave for this sort of attention and the drummer despite having a girl friend (CHARLIZE THERON) is trying his luck with the lady and in the meantime arrives another band member taking over the situation and the lady and let’s the drummer knows about the entrance of his girl friend and eventually ends up letting the girl about his single status and married status of other band members.

The drummer and the group are a hit right away and business propositions start to flow with the first visit to a mobile caravan with a guy inviting them to make a record on their song…That Thing You Do.

The celebration for the first Radio release, the joy of listening through one’s first voice is a pleasure, a treat to watch.

The movie runs through, from local town to Pittsburg, the first ever official performance. It’s the first ever show by ONEDERS…they are now labelled as O KNEE DERS while they wanted to call them as WONDERS. The nervous pangs are on and there’s confusion all around, from mike not working to drum shields falling all over the place.

So.. you finally got a chance to show your passion!! Well I must say this is a good forum for you to air ur thoughts on movies..
Now for my contribution.. Saw Forrest Gump yesterday.. have seen it many times and love it each time.. Its just the simplicity of the main character Forrest that impresses me.. You've just gotta love the line "My momma says - life is like a box of chocolates!"

THIS ONE IS FOR FRIENDS....!

Never ever thought that life would come to a point where friends would part this way. I sure am emotional and feel nothing less than a child...when during my school days I missed a friend who was streamed to another unit and thus we lost times we would spend together.

None ever wants to come to a stage where friends part this way and it all happens in a flash and so unexpectedly. I know those who it is meant to be would be able to understand and for some I could another they had to move since they were at a juncture, however for some I didnt knew the journey would end (god knows what happens next) in such an abrupt fashion...

This part has no role to play from my side and it seems I am stand-still and people have moved on.

It's an emotional loss and I only have WORDS to express the same.

WORDS AND WORDS ARE ALL I HAVE TO EXPRESS MY PAIN...!!

FRIENDS AFTER ALL....!!

Let me message those who it was meant to be such that they can read and go through it...and understand how it feels at this moment.

my last words...ASTALAVISTA BABY....!! (MAY BE WATT I KNOW OF IT, IT MEANS...phir milengey)

Dear Mr. lonely-without-friends Dua (style lifted from "which brings me to you")

dunna xactly what makes u feel dat u r lft wdout frnds. i dn't quite feel d same way. I understand the official episodes hv nt been very encouraging or heartening either.. but that's that way it works then. as far as friends parting is concerned - and if the hint is on me - i must let u know in specific words that i'm quite upbeat about the project. just don't have much of time to share. NOw, not that i don't have time to spend, just have some priorities lined up first at this time. u know i've always tried to carry tasks in effective manner as best possible per my potential... dunna what 2 say much .. oh and also, ur job sucks.. i think it's about time that you raised ur voice about it. i mean, if people have to do what they have had to do over the last 6 months or so (particularly), then i don't care what project it is or what brand it is, but it sure aint worth it. i mean.. whatever happened to working like a team yaar???
huh
i'll tell u what.. i'm a nasty bastard. It'd unarguably be the easiest option for me to keep out of all the drama, see thru this month, never to be in this situation again (at least not in the same org.). u know it. i know it. but by gods i won't. i will voice my opinion.. as i've always done. as i shall always do..
personally, dunna what's better, is it to keep working only to be eluded by the goal or maybe to giveup in the hope of luck smiling on you.. dunna what's the best for ya.. whatever it is, whatever u do, I'd try to stick with ya with all my might and with all i got...
if u doin nothing today, maybe let's try to meet during night . i don't know. prat said wanna meet up. it's her last xam today. tomorrow is lunch at sis..

liked that quick response, chalo atleast you managed to take sometime out...!!

As for life it shall take it's due course...!!

All I could so last nite was to share how i felt especially after the officially incidents and it feels sorry for such happening around oneself. But things shall move on....

As for the sucking job, all we can do for now is to try the 1st and last bit of effort...Mr. GM came to unit ystrdy and without giving much words to my thoughts, let me trying and utilise the playing ground to the max. and see where things go.

Keep writing and as for people coming and going, Am used to it by now, though my nature of job requires me to be as expressive and that is what is going to get to me to where I want to be.

In the hope of going in our lanes we chose, looking forward to travel in a lane everyone wishes to be...!!

Adieu for now...

I have just created a BLOG for myself at my place as well and am feeding my thoughts in it and it is serving my purpose well enough. Though it may not look as eye catchy and organised as this one online. Yet the one on my laptop is interesting and makes sense. I shall keep coming here and post my thoughts especially if I have seen a movie and would like to post my comments on it. For the moment with rare thoughts on the BLOG from none else except Nitin & Aparna that I have not been able to excite anyone to come to this BLOG and make them unput their thoughts. More so I think someone like me who has a small social and friend circle and also likes to keep his thoughts and personal like to himself would not want to share too much of his thoughts with too many people around. Yet anyone interested in adding their thoughts to the BLOG is welcomed.

Here's something on "The Departed"

Two just-graduated officers from Massachusetts State Police Academy follow opposite sides of the law: William Costigan is assigned to work undercover with the Irish mobster Frank Costello to get evidences to arrest him. His true identity is only known by his superiors Dignam and Oliver Queenan. The protégée of Costello, Colin Sullivan, is promoted in the Massachusetts State Police and is the informer of Costello. Each police officer gives his best effort trying to disclose the identity of the other "rat". Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Billy Costigan, a young man from a crook family, wants to do redeem the Costigan family by joining the cops. However, the cops see him as the perfect mole because of his crook family, so they send him undercover to the Irish Mob. Meanwhile, Frank Costello, the mob boss, sends in Colin Sullivan to become a cop for the opposite purpose. Both get caught up in their double lives and become obsessed with finding the other mole, as does Costello and Queenan, the heads of each side. Written by hnt523

Years ago, a powerful Irish mafia figure placed a small selection of his youngest, brightest men into the Massachusetts State Police Academy as cadets. Their purpose is to eventually rise within the prestigious ranks of the state police department, to serve as the eyes and ears of their boss. While somewhere else, a young cadet was assigned with an equally dangerous task: infiltrate the Irish syndicate headed by the man sending in his own to the Massachusetts State Police. Now, one cadet is an up and coming police official with a torn allegiance to his job and to the criminal mastermind that put him there. While the other cadet is the trusted number two of that man, only finding his professional duties are becoming blurred with his current state. But new clues have lead to unfortunate discoveries, when both sides realize they're being watched by the enemy. It's now all just a matter of time before the men assigned to find out whose the infiltrator, could come to a bloody end when someone's identity may be revealed. Written by mystic80

In South Boston, the state police force is waging war on Irish-American organized crime. Young undercover cop Billy Costigan is assigned to infiltrate the mob syndicate run by gangland chief Frank Costello. While Billy quickly gains Costello's confidence, Colin Sullivan, a hardened young criminal who has infiltrated the state police as an informer for the syndicate, is rising to a position of power in the Special Investigation Unit. Each man becomes deeply consumed by his double life, gathering information about the plans and counter-plans of the operations he has penetrated. But when it becomes clear to both the mob and the police that there's a mole in their midst, Billy and Colin are suddenly in danger of being caught and exposed to the enemy-and each must race to uncover the identity of the other man in time to save himself. But is either willing to turn on the friends and comrades they've made during their long stints undercover? Written by Anonymous

Revolves around a rivalry between the Massachusetts State Police and an Irish-American gang. A gangster is chosen to infiltrate the state police while a young police officer is chosen to infiltrate the gang. When their paths cross, what will be the result? Written by Ninja01

And now there's something on Martin Scorsese...

Martin Marcantonio Luciano Scorsese (pronounced /skɔrˈsɛsi/ in English[1] and IPA: [luˈtʃaːno skoɾˈseːze] in Italian; born November 17, 1942) is an Academy Award-winning American film director, writer, producer and film historian. Also affectionately known as "Marty", he is the founder of the World Cinema Foundation and a recipient of the AFI Life Achievement Award for his contributions to the cinema and has won awards from the Golden Globe, BAFTA, and Directors Guild of America. Scorsese is president of the Film Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to film preservation and the prevention of the decaying of motion picture film stock.

Scorsese's body of work addresses such themes as Italian American identity, Roman Catholic concepts of guilt and redemption,[2] machismo, and the violence endemic to American society. Scorsese is widely considered to be one of the most significant and influential American filmmakers of his era, directing landmark films such as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas; all of which he collaborated on with actor Robert De Niro .[3] He earned an MFA in film directing from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

Kid, (style lifted from Kate of The Reader) I don't see much coming here like this. I don't know if there is hardly anybody apart from some mean pricks such as 'yours truly' who visit and opine here.
Listen, I don't know if it makes any sense - and please excuse me in advance if it doesn't - but tell me this, how do you differentiate a good storyteller from a GREAT one. someone like 'apna' Marty bhai? What do you think sets'em apart? Is it the art of storytelling that they're, maybe, blessed with and/or they've honed over the years? Is it, maybe, some personal experience that they might have had in their lives that they are then able to present in such delectable manner that leaves people awestruck seeing their work. Or are they just plain artists with great sense of pragmatism so as to be able to keep an eye of public nerve..
Shoot!! i gotta leave now..
catch u soon

even these occassional visits are encouraging enough and i find myself to be an occassional visitor here. Having visited the site after a while I failed to recall that I need to login to be able to see those rare posts which I have stopped expecting. For sure I aint AK (from the khan brothers) to expect lot of fan mail.

However even before you posted or were doing it, I was busy reading a lil about Marty S and found the life he had been through, divorce and separation from kid had a toll on him. He reacted none different than apne Guru Dutt saheb. After all when you experience such pain that it kills you somewhere within and that wound somewhere gives you a learning of life. For we can't understand why and what makes one look at life the we Scorsese or for that matter others like him since we are nowhere near what they may have been through.

However everyone has their share of experiences and it's all being as simple and open to what goes around us. One need not essentially be a visionary to grasp what happens around, however as they say common sense isnt as common, having an eye for things does just needs a paid of eye to watch.

Marty as I recall wrote something so very simple which all of us can recall. It was about ligting and how he reading under a light pole or in front of a restaurant billboard would capture what light effect could do to his vision. Cinema being a visual medium is so very much about how to picture a visual but it cannot supercede the story not withdrawing from it the fact that everthing shade of color enhances the story which is the high point of every film.

Before it sounds too technical, let me come share how a great piece of art isnt just one person's vision. You need a team you can confide in and they do it for you, rather you do it as a unit...but that leaves me with a ques. whether there exist masters of talent or is it all about a team of experts...however not denying that a combination of two make one's vision brings to celluloid a masterpiece.

When I write it all, it brings to me the visuals of Taxi Driver (you talkin' to me) and many alike from his work. Not sure if we have acceptance (Box office) for such piece of work but for sure history says it all, neither was Guru Dutt or Raj Kapoor (not sure what's peoples thoughts on latter are) got that acclaim for some of their piece of work..be it Pyassa or Mera Naam Joker.

But not getting into the deep dive of it all...it's all about keeping a nerve of people but be as much an audience to one's own work...to enjoy it...and as I always say...the more we know about ourself the more we get to know others...after all we are from the same species..lol...! So on that note...! Bye for the moment...and thanks to those occassional visitors...making me add a few thoughts..!
